Argungu International Fishing Festival
Attraction 01

Argungu International Fishing Festival

Recognised by UNESCO as part of the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Argungu International Fishing Festival is Africa’s largest traditional fishing festival. Held annually on the Matan Fada River, it features thousands of fishermen competing to catch the largest fish using traditional methods, alongside canoe racing, wrestling, music, dance, and agricultural exhibitions.

Gwandu Emir’s Palace

The Gwandu Emir’s Palace is the official residence of the Emir of Gwandu, one of the four first-class emirs of Kebbi State. The palace is a magnificent example of traditional Hausa-Fulani architecture and remains an important centre for the cultural and political history of the historic Gwandu Emirate.
