Gusau is the capital and largest city of Zamfara State in northwestern Nigeria. Founded around 1799 by Mallam Muhammadu Sambo Dan Ashafa during the Sokoto Jihad, it has grown into the state’s administrative, commercial, and agricultural centre. The city is deeply rooted in Hausa-Fulani culture and serves as an important gateway to northwestern Nigeria.

Dutsin Kwatarkwashi

Dutsin Kwatarkwashi, also known as Kwatarkwashi Rock, is a remarkable natural rock and mountain formation in Kwatarkwashi, Zamfara State. The site combines striking geological formations, natural springs, caves and a long cultural history, and has traditionally held spiritual significance for the Kwatarkwashi community. Today it is visited for sightseeing, hiking, picnicking, photography and research.

Emir of Gusau’s Palace

The Emir of Gusau’s Palace is the official residence of the Emir and one of the city’s most important cultural landmarks. The palace showcases traditional Hausa-Fulani architecture and serves as the centre of the emirate’s cultural, religious, and traditional activities, especially during the annual Durbar Festival.
